COMPOSITION

Fatromycine 6,000,000: penicillin G sodium 3,600,000 IU, penicillin G procaine 2,400,000 IU, dihydrostre-ptomycin 5 g, solvent 20 ml.

PROPERTIES

Fatromycine is an association of two different salts of penicillin G, a natural penicillin, and dihydrostreptomycin; it is thus endowed with antibacterial activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative microorganisms. Penicillin G sodium is rapidly absorbed after IM injection and yield high peak levels within 20 minutes of administration. Furthermore, the presence of a long acting penicillin (penicillin G procaine) ensures a sustained therapeutic action, reducing the emergence of penicillin-resistant bacterial strains.

INDICATIONS

Infections of the respiratory (pneumonia, bronchopneumonia, pleuropneumonia) and urinary systems as well as peritonitis, neonatal infections, mastitis, abscesses, osteomyelitis and septicaemia.

ADMINISTRATION

IM.

DOSAGE

Cattle, horses: 20 ml every 24 hours.
Cattle, horses (less than 300 kg b.w.): 10 ml every 24 hours.
Foals, calves, sheep: 5 ml every 24 hours.
Dogs, lambs: 2 ml every 24 hours.
