COMPOSITION

1 ml contains: benzylpenicillin procaine 250,000 IU, dihydrostreptomycin (as the sulphate), equivalent to base 250 mg, betamethasone sodium phosphate 0.5 mg.

PROPERTIES

Cormicina is a combination of three extremely efficacious active substances proven over time to combat pathologies of bacterial origin.
Benzylpenicillin is an antibiotic very effective against Gram-positive bacteria. It acts by preventing formation of the bacterial cell wall, thus causing its disruption. The procaine form slows down systemic absorption of the antibiotic, producing lower concentrations of the active substance but more prolonged over time. Dihydrostreptomycin is an aminoglycoside antibiotic, principally active against Gram-negative bacteria and secondarily against Gram-positive bacteria. It acts by binding to bacterial ribosomal subunit 30s, thus inhibiting protein synthesis. Betamethasone is an extremely efficacious corticosteroid with a strong anti-inflammatory, antiallergic, and antipyretic action.

INDICATIONS

For the treatment of bacterial infections caused by microorganisms sensitive to the benzylpenicillin-dihydrostreptomycin combination: bronchitis, pneumonia, pleuritis, acute mastitis, septic metritis, polyserositis, polyarthritis, septicemia, edema disease, acute eczematous disorders.
