PROPERTIES

Fatromycine R is an association of several different salts of penicillin G, a natural penicillin, and dihydrostreptomycin; it is thus endowed with long-lasting antibacterial activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative microorganisms. Penicillin benzathine is the benzathine tetrahydrate salt of penicillin G. It is hydrolyzed in vivo to penicillin G and acts as a long-acting form of penicillin G. The presence of penicillin benzathine, in addition to penicillin procaine and penicillin sodium, ensures therapeutically active blood levels for at least 48-72 hours. The persistence of high hematic levels of the antibiotic for a long time, as obtained administrating adequate dosages of Fatromycine R, increases therapeutic efficacy and reduces the risk of creating penicillin-resistant bacterial strains.

INDICATIONS

Fatromycine R is indicated for all infections of sensitive Gram-positive and Gram-negative microorganisms and in the cases where a long-lasting antibacterial activity is required.
