PROPERTIES

The sulfadiazine-trimethoprim association blocks two sequential steps in the synthesis of folic acid, which is essential for the development of microorganisms.
It show antimicrobial activity against many aerobic Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, as well as against coccidia.
The highest tissue concentrations of the active substances are already seen one hour after administration by the oral route.
When Neopridimet O.S. is administered in the drinking water at the recommended doses, efficacious levels of the association are detectable throughout the principal tissues and fluids in the organism, for the entire duration of treatment.

INDICATIONS

For the treatment of bacterial infections of the respiratory and gastrointestinal systems due to pathogenic agents sensitive to the action of the sulfadiazine-trimethoprim association.
Bacterial complications of viral infections, septicemia, pasteurellosis, colibacillosis, coccidiosis.

ADMINISTRATION

Oral.

DOSAGE

Chickens and rabbits: 0.2-0.3 ml of solution per kg of body weight (equivalent to 0.7-1.0 ml of product per litre of drinking water and 48-72 mg of the association per kg of body weight).
Approximate duration of the treatment: 3-5 days.
In case of coccidiosis, perform two 3-day treatments with an interval of 2 days between treatments.
