PROPERTIES

Oxytetracycline is an antibiotic endowed with a very broad spectrum of action. It is indicated for many Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacterial infections and spirochetal, chlamydial, rickettsial and mycoplasmal diseases.
The low toxicity and the reduced tendency to determine phenomena of sensitization as compared to other antibiotics, allow to consider oxytetracycline as one of the safest antibiotics.

INDICATIONS

Suckling calves: pasteurellosis, diseases secondary to viral infections of the respiratory and digestive apparata, enzootic pneumonia.
Pigs: bacterial diseases of the intestinal and respiratory apparata.
Poultry: bacterial diseases of respiratory, gastrointestinal and genital apparata, bacterial septicaemia.
Rabbits and fur animals: colibacillosis, salmonellosis and pasteurellosis.
Fish: bacterial diseases.

ADMINISTRATION

Oral.

DOSAGE

Suckling calves: 12-17.5 g/kg of replacing milk or 0.2-0.25 g/kg bw for 3-5 days.
Pigs: 2.5-5 g/kg of feed or 0.1 -0.2 g/kg bw for 3-5 days.
Poultry: 2-5 g/kg of feed or 1-2.5 g/Lt of drinking water for 3-5 days.
Rabbits and fur animals: 2-5 g/kg of feed or 0.2-0.25 g/kg bw for 5-6 days.
Fish: 17.5-37.5 g/kg of feed for 7-1 4 days.
