PROPERTIES
Tetracyclines is a mainly bacteriostatic antibiotic that bind to the 30S subunit of the ribosome, inhibiting protein synthesis.
It has a broad spectrum of antimicrobial activity, including chlamydiae, rickettsiae, mycoplasmas, spirochetes, many aerobic and anaerobic Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, and some protozoa.
Neomycin is an aminoglycoside antibiotic highly active against enterobacteria, including tetracycline-resistant strains. Unlike tetracycline, it is not absorbed and the whole dose is eliminated through the digestive tract, being active locally at enteric level.
The association of the two antibiotics exerts a wider spectrum of activity that is particularly useful against multi-drug resistant bacterial strains.
INDICATIONS
For prevention and control of infections of Gram-negative and Gram-positive germs: colibacillosis, salmonellosis, pneumonia, CRD, septicemia, shipping fever, blue-comb, etc.
